Initially, I started this piece in 2007. I worked on it on and off and considered it complete in 2016.
As I began this mixed media oil painting, a sea started to emerge in the middle of my creation, the more I would paint. Eventually, a portal evolved within the sea and began to expand its presence.

Years went by, and the beautiful blues covering the canvas would put me at ease. However, I continued to experience an ‘unfinished’ quality to the piece. As I reflected further, I felt the need for two additional layers for the work to convey its entirety of existence.
It is the dance of my life from 2008 to 2015. This piece now dances with so many hidden layers. It provided a breath of fresh air due to the buoyant force developed within the original blues.
Listening to a fantastic classical music composition while reflecting on this piece will mutually reflect the other.
